Man U Triumphed
I was on duty last yesterday for my squadron as overnight guard. Never really got to sleep past 0200hrs as there were alot of ppl coming in to book out keys. Only slept from 12am to 2am.
Then I decided that since the "live" match between Manchester United and Benefica at Old Trafford was going to be screened on Channel 5, I decided not to rest anymore. Preparation of watching "The Big Match" begun with turning on the televison, hitting it till there was some reception, filling up my water bottle and finding some biscuits to eat while watching.
As early as the 3rd min, Scholes had a chance to shoot but he alas, SKIED the ball! Then in the 7th min, van Nistelrooy shot but his shoot hit the woodwork!
Heng ah... Giggs scored from his free kick though it was deflected on its way to goal but still went in at the 39th min.
Then, suay ah!!!! Benefica scored from their free kick near the right edge of the penalty box. No doubt, the free kick the shooter took was very nice.
Benefica got Man Utd on the back pedal from then on but, it was not going to last. I knew that Man U would score again.
In the last 15-20 mins, Man U played like possessed humans and Ronaldo was the Man Of The Match in my eyes as his dazzling run, dribbling skills left the opposition players for dead most times. With attacking play, Man U were rewarded with a 2nd goal, van Nistelrooy scored during a goal mouth melee. Heng ah!!! Phew~ My heart went back to its rightful position and I continued my guard duty dutifully.
