2 Incidents in 2 Days
Yesterday, I was released early from the air base to be home. I went out nearby my house for a while and almost lost my mobile phone. I go out of the cab after paying my fare, and, much to my horror, my mobile dropped out of my pocket onto the seat in the cab!
I ran almost 20o metres at FULL SPEED man! To my dismay, everytime I thought the cab was slowing down to a halt or the traffic light was red, it would just turn green or, the cab driver would drive his cab faster and faster. Luckily, I guessed he saw my waving my hand frantically while running. He must have sensed something was amiss. He looked around his cab and saw my handphone was left at the backseat. He stopped immediately and thank god, I got back my handphone from him.
I would have given up the chase if he had continued moving on as I just took my IPPT the day before and was not in the best of conditions to keep chasing. Yup, I heard some readers having this thought,"why not just memorize the cab's number and make a call to the cab company and they will broadcast to their cabbies?" Yes, I did think of that too but I could not see the car's licence plate clearly. That is the main reason why I gave chase for such a long distance.
Due to this incident, I was totally shagged out and had no more mood and strength to be out any further. I decided to make my way home from where I was and rest.
Today, I went to SIM HQ to get my student's portal and listen to the talk on how to plan and manage my academic work, plan for my time table, how to use the online student's website and, how to get help if I need.
It was quite a general orientation talk as it was conducted for students doing the part-time degrees offered by UOL's LSE College.
Made my way down to Marina Square to have my lunch alone at Thai Express. Lunch for me today was at 4pm as the talk at SIM finished at 3pm. After lunch, I proceeded to Swenson's restaurant to make enquires on how to go about making a reservation for 30 pax.
To my dismay, I had to e-mail the relevant person-in-charge the food order list and which outlet the reservation will be at.
Too troublesome! On my way home, I decided not to make any reservation and just try my luck on the next coming Sunday for my secondary school's class gathering.
